My iPhone got Blacklisted!!!

I purchased an iPhone about a month ago from a person. He assured me that he purchased it from apple but yesterday the mobile got blacklisted by one of the communication companies. I paid a huge amount for this phone but got blacklisted after using for just one month. Is there somewhere or someone to describe this issue to and get help from? I got really confused and feel bad.

don’t know what to do.

I have been told this could be a known scam. Someone sells it without the blacklist. But they cannot claim insurance with a blacklist. They sell to you, THEN report blacklist to claim both your sales $$ and the insurance.

"he does not respond anymore". Scam or thief, most likely. Police can track using those email and phone nmuber where you cannot.

Threaten Rogers to take company/him to court legally via a registered mail if he can’t show you he sold you a legally purchased phone now it’s reported as stolen.. Sounds like he’s accepting and reselling stolen goods and you should file a police report on line. I’d send a registered letter to Apple too to ask for the contact for the original owner . Your phone signal carrier may be able to help you find out what to do too. Good luck!

If you are the owner or the owner has shared all information with you then to open Activation Lock:- If it is Activation locked, read here --> Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support Activation Lock for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Learn how to remove a device from a previous owner's account.

If you are not the owner and do not have the Apple ID and Password then there is no way that you can get into this iPhone unless the original owner shares the Apple ID and password with you. If you are lucky you can get into this iPhone if they (owner) accidentally remove the device from their Apple ID.

The phone is not Apple ID locked. It is blacklisted by Rogers which the first owner has bought from. The first owner then reported this iPhone as stolen in which case the rogers has possibly given him another iPhone under the warranty and blacklisted this iPhone. The main problem is that none of the SIM cards is working in this iPhone. I have all the evidences regarding paying for this iPhone to him but in spite of that police and Rogers refused to help and said that I must find the person myself which is almost impossible for me. I have his mobile number and email address but he does not respond to any.

I called and went to Rogers multiple times, told them that I have all the evidences in hand. I send the money to him through e-transfer and could show them all that evidences. I told them that they can investigate in any form they want, but their response was that they cannot disclose any information about their customer. I called police many time and they were telling me to contact Rogers.

To be honest, both of them made me so disappointed.

Maybe my message was mistimed with yours ... sorry. I would not have posted mine if I had seen the one you poated.

Just some legal generalities and not intended as criticism of you:

There are both criminal courts and civil courts. In civil court there does not need to be a provable criminal case, just some way the person wronged you. But then you have to pay a lawyer to start the process and there is always the chance the seller wins the case and you have to pay his/her court costs ... be prepared for it if you try. Sometimes it is better to learn the lesson and move on instead of incurring further risk, the way that people in a fender-bender with 15-year-old cars just part ways.
