MacBook Air Cricut Design Space Error -18

Hello!

I am sure you may not be familiar with Cricut Design Space but what is happening is when I make my first cut and it finishes and I go to load my next mat into my Cricut machine my MacBook Air is disconnecting from my Cricut Machine and gives me an error -18. I have tried trouble shooting and talking directly to Cricut. I was told to try to use my iPad and I have no problems at all when I use my iPad but my MacBook Air will not stay connected to my Cricut machine. I have two Cricut Machines and have tried both and it is always the same. I have tried Googling and doing all the fixes everyone else has been doing and nothing is working, I tried clearing my cookies, uninstalling Design Space and reinstalling, forgetting my Cricut machines on bluetooth on my Mac and re adding them and I was told by Cricut that it is a problem with my MacBook Air. Is there any way anyone can help me with this issue? This used to work but the last few months I have been having this error and nothing I do helps. I hope this makes sense.

Try this, from Cricut's support pages: Design Space numbered error messages. Scroll down to the error you're encountering (-18). Follow those numbered steps. It seems you did that, got to Step 5, and contacting them didn't help either.

The next error (-21) "Clear your browser history, cache, and cookies" seems applicable:

Clear your browsing history in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

You may need to restart your Cricut machine, and maybe the Mac also.

See if that fixes it. If not, it's possible what Cricut said is actually correct. Bluetooth interference could be a factor: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support

Hi KaitlynnPaige,

We see you're having an issue getting your Cricut hardware paired with your Mac. We would continue working with the manufacturer as you have been to resolve this. However, we'd also make sure that the macOS version you're running is compatible with the model you're using. Additionally you can try using a different user account on your Mac to see if the issue persists there as well. You can learn how to do that here: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Take care.
