Made for iPhone hearing aids not switching between multiple Apple devices

Made for iPhone hearing aids are not switching between multiple Apple devices reliably. Maybe they would switch if i put down my iPhone and begin watching a video on my iPad if i wait 60 or more seconds but usually it’s not worth waiting and i switch off Bluetooth on the phone to force the switch. If i don’t force the switch then i have to turn up the ipad volume and disturb others in the room until the switch may or may not happen. Turning off Bluetooth also isn’ta good solution because it disconnects other devices like watch the watch or other medical devices. A have had a career in software dev so i feel i can adequately troubleshoot and work with apple to improve this system. I would be content to have a reliable way to manually switch the connection without turning off Bluetooth to having and unreliable “automatic” method. Apple, it’s time to quit just saying you have a feature but ignoring all the posts that tell you it doesn’t work. Is anyone at apple interested in helping?

Actually, they can and are intended to be paired to multiple apple devices. Currently they are paired to my iPhone, ipad pro, and ipad mini. There is a feature/setting for “Audio Handoff” with the description “Take the hearing device connection from nearby iOS devices when audio starts.” This setting appears under “hearing devices” in the Accessibility settings. The design is that when paired to multiple ios devices you should be able to pickup any of the paired devices and play audio and the devices will communicate to switch the hearing aids to the device actively playing audio. However I have found this feature to be very unreliable.

It's complicated... Although Apple does administer this community, that doesn't include routinely reading each of thousands of daily posts and stepping in to help. Fellow users are supposed to answer technical questions. However, if a post goes unanswered for a few days, Apple "Community Specialists" may step in and answer it. Also, if a Level 2 (or higher) user reports a discussion or answer that is off topic, inappropriate, or offensive, Apple will remove it. Apple also does read feedback.

I agree with you. Audio Handoff was intended to work between iOS devices, but like you said, it is totally unreliable. I can pair my Oticon More 1 MFI aids to both my iPhone 13 Pro Max and my iPad Pro at the same time, but only one of the devices has control. It depends, in my case, on which device I pair first. I do sometimes see the Handoff icon, but it never has worked. If I pair my iPhone first and my iPad second, the iPhone has Control. If I go to my iPad and look at Hearing Devices it shows "Connected to iPhone". The only way I can get it switched to my iPad is to power off(shutdown) my iPhone. I am not sure it is an iOS issue or implementation issue of MFI by Oticon. Image of my iPad attached:
