Cannot add Bose Soundbar 700 to Homekit

Has anyone successfully managed to add the Soundbar 700 to Apple Homekit? I have completed the setup within the Bose Music app but when I go to “Add Accessory” in Apple Homekit, nothing shows up 😔

I think the issue is that the Bose Soundbar 700 is not AirPlay 2 capable, only the original AirPlay. AirPlay 2 would be required for HomeKit. As such, Bose released the Soundbar 900 model which is AirPlay 2 capable.

Hey Tesserax,

It actually says on the Bose website that the Soundbar 700 is Airplay 2 capable.

There is another thread on the communities page where the Soundbar 700 owner has detected the speaker on the Homekit app but wasn’t making a connection (and no one replied). My Homekit app isn’t seeing the Soundbar at all though 🙁 I wonder if there’s something I’m doing wrong that I just can’t seem to figure out.

Yikes! Right there on the on the initial web page. Not sure how I missed that. Must not have had enough coffee before replying to your post. ;)

Unfortunately, I don't have this Soundbar model. Mine is an "ancient" 1st generation Bose Soundbar that doesn't support AirPlay at all. As such there is no way I can try to duplicate the issue for you. Sorry!

All I can offer you is this article, that hopefully, you may find helpful:
