Anyone know how to reboot a Siri Remote (2nd Gen silver)?

Recently I had an issue whereby my Siri Remote (2nd Gen silver) was constantly sending IR commands to my TV. I could even see the red IR light constantly on and despite pressing other buttons including the power off button it would not stop.

I contacted Apple support and their only solution was to send me another one. However, as expected when the battery died and I recharged it the remote began working as normal.

Hence I am hoping there is a way to "reboot" the remote if this happens again. Thanks in advance!

Same here.

I solve it by placing the remote in a metal box, away from Apple TV, for about 12 hours. Initially I just intended to let it discharge, but when I checked the next day the IR stopped emitting. And there was still 80% battery left.

Maybe cutting Bluetooth connectivity with Apple TV helped somehow, although this is only my theory…
