How to download Open Office on Mac Monterrey?

Open Office does not appear to be supported or compatible with Monterey

They have stopped supporting macOS beyond OS X 10.7 LION.

LibreOffice is an alternative and is also free or donations. Be certain to to chose either Intel Version of Apple Silicon version depending on this computer

Apache's site implies that OO can be used above OSX 10.7 without any details. However it does warn that it's not being downloaded from the App Store it may fall foul of Gatekeeper. You may be able to open it by control-clicking the application and choosing 'Open' and checking the warnings. See also this page:

Give FreeOffice 2021 a try. Small footprint, very fast, very good compatibility with MS Office and has very few nags about upgrading to paid. So far, after several months usage there has been a single upgrade nag. It was easily dismissed.

They do require an activation code, but that's a simple and immediate email.

I can get OO to work with Monterey but crashes occasionally. LibreOffice works much better.
