in itunes, how can i make sure that my uploaded cd's remain on my hard drive after enabling icloud sync? ive had certain tracks and albums disappear from the library or just the files not located anymore. im Afraid to enable icloud sync in fear of loosing music i dont have acess to anymore.

Make a complete backup of your library to an external drive. Update that backup manually, or in a way that lets you know if files disappear from the source folder so you can choose to restore them rather than mirror the deletion.
