alias passwords

Is your appleid used for your alias mail? When I set up my accounts for mail on a laptop on any apple device, and I use an alias AND my "true apple account", do I need to set the aliases in a separate account?

If you are setting up an iCloud account, you don't need to make a separate account for the aliases.
