Notifications not working properly

Updated to IOS 15 and at first I wasn’t being notified of certain text messages. Like only from specific people. I never changed any settings with the update. And now with the newest update my unknown/spam calls are not being silenced. I have never had any issues in the past. Is this a known problem?

Hello,

Hmm, I'm not aware of any particular issues, but start here:

Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Note: these are the standard steps for no sound/notifications:

  1. Is the side silent mute button on? Does any red show? Slide it back and fourth.
  2. How about the volume buttons? Is the volume very low? Move the buttons.
  3. Is Do Not Disturb on? Go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb. Is it turned on? Check the times.
  4. Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics. Check the Ringer and Alerts slider.  Try changing the sound pattern for the type of alert.
  5. Go to Settings > Notifications. Is the app listed?
  6. Do other sounds work? What about phone calls?
  7. Volume summary:  Adjust the volume on iPhone
  8. Do you have an Apple watch? Many of the notifications will go to the watch instead of the phone.

Note: you can send text messages to yourself for testing purposes.

Good luck.

My issue is my phone does not notify me if my husband texts me but will notify me if my mom texts me. All settings are the same for both parties. I had not changed anything in the settings.

Secondly my phone randomly just started not silencing unknown callers. Nothing was changed by me. It had been working for over a year with no problems.

Lastly my phone is on its last payment. Anytime my terms come to an end and they’re almost paid off something funky happens with my phones..
