iPhone Hotspot Challenges

Agency iPhones no longer connecting via hotspot. Have tried everything listed. Started when updating to version 15 Have installed all patches/updates and still cannot get to work. Have a personal iPhone on same IOS version that works fine with agency laptops. Does not appear to be IOS version. Cellular provider states nothing on account blocking hotspot functionality. At complete loss. Have tried every troubleshooting tip we can find. Selected iPhone 7 as that is device in hand with issue, however happening on various models so not isolated to older 7. Also have issue on XR.

There is nothing called blocking Hotspot. Ask them if they have enabled Hotspot with your Data Plan?


The Hotspot is a Carrier Specific feature. Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider), the agency that issued the SIM / eSIM to you.

Thank you for the reply. We did contact Verizon rep for our corporate account. We are advised there is no issue with our data plan and hotspot functionality remains intact from account perspective. (I had that happen years ago, so did request that check first)


We also have IBM MaaS MDM in mix so have created ticket with IBM to see if issue is within the MDM solution. NO settings have been changed by us, but perhaps there was some update that caused an issue. Thus far IBM states the issue is not likely with MBM, but likely with Verizon OR Apple.. Ticket also created with Apple


It is a vicious cycle at this point.
