Turn off Dark mode in Safari and preview

I'm running Sierra 10.12.6 on my Mac. Somehow my safari was changed to dark mode, I'd like to change that. AND when I open a file with Preview or PowerPoint, I am looking at solid black screens. I assume the 2 are related. Looking at online forums, the fix is to go to System Preferences\General and turn off Dark Mode. I do not have a dark mode option under General tab with Sierra.

Mac OS didn't have dark mode until Mac OS Mojave, so your Mac with High Sierra won't have any dark mode settings.


I'm not really sure what your exact issue is, but maybe you enabled some of these other semi dark mode unofficial options?
