Charge Apple Pencil first generation

You pencil can be charged by directly connecting to your iPad Lightning connector - or using the inline charging adapter.

If you have mislaid the inline charging adapter, you might need a replacement. Whilst not sold by Apple as a spare part, if you visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store - and ask very nicely - the Apple technicians might be able to help. Alternatively, you may find third-party alternatives are available from online resellers such as Amazon.

Lotus Pilot has confused all of this.

If you purchased/own the original 1st gen Pencil, it will NEVER work with a 2021 iPad Pro.

You have purchased/chose the WRONG version Pencil.

For 2018-2021 iPad Pro models, 2020 iPad Air 4 and the 2021 iPad Mini 6th gen, you need to purchase the newer, more expensive Pencil 2nd generation.

Both versions of the Pencil pair and charge differently

OP has a2021 iPad Pro.

OP has the WRONG version Pencil for that model iPad.

What iPad year and model do you have/own?
