I am currently using my M1 ipad Pro (11in, 3rd gen) as a second display for my mbp via Sidecar. I was wondering if it is possible to use connect my iPad to my MacBook without the iPad being charged, as it charges it when I plug it into my laptop.

No, not my knowledge, since iOS/iPadOS devices have just 1 port for charging and/or transfering data/audio.

You can use Sidecar wirelessly, but to keep your iPad charged during use, connect it directly to your Mac with the USB charge cable that came with your iPad.

Thanks for the response. Im sorry about the phrasing of my question. I know that I can use it wirelessly, but I wanted to know if I'll be able to plug it into my computer without it being charged? As the wireless connection is weak sometimes.
