How do I use the free temporary iCloud storage to back up my phone? There is a video on the apple support page for how to transfer to a new iPhone that said you could use free temporary iCloud space if you don't have enough iCloud space but I'm not seeing this option anywhere.

Ok I updated my phone. That was the issue. I got the prompts to use the free temporary iCloud space and started the backup but then it stopped and said it was unable to backup and every time I try again, it just says "The last backup could not be completed" under my settings.
How do I use the free temporary iCloud storage to back up my phone?
