Big Sur on Mac Mini cannot find MacOS updates anymore

I recently updated my Mac mini Late 2014 to macOS Big Sur 11.6.2. But now it can't find any new updates not even to Monterey. It keeps looking for ever, no stop...

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Interesting, my output is showing both Monterey 12.01 and Monterey 12.1 both as Full Installer.

Not knowing what " Cleaner " is installed - can not offer any direction and what this " Cleaner " may or may not have inflicted on this computer

Below is predicated on this computer is Non Part of a Mobile Digital Management Service . Otherwise all actions below will probably fail.

Factor as play

1 - Like poor Wifi connection

2 - Slow wifi connection

3 - Too many other people downloading at the same time and Apple Severs are overloaded

4 - Software on the computer interfering with the download process including AntiVirus Software

5 - Running behind a VPN which may increase Packet losses, may corrupt or otherwise interfering with the Search for UpGrade to Monterey

6 - If via wifi too many Other devices using the wifi at the same time reducing the Bandwidth to your computer.

7 - Best Results are via Ethernet Cable to Router

There are several ways to download the Monterey macOS 12.

1 - Connect to Router via Ethernet connection and restart the computer in Safe Mode and then open the Apple Apps Store and get the Full Installer of Monterey. It will be the most recent version and once downloaded run the installer from the Applications folder.

2 - This method may seem unnecessary but sometimes the Router Restart clears Network issues from ISP to Apple Servers

Shutdown Router. Shutdown computer and disconnect all External Drives. Restart Router.

Connect to Router via Ethernet Cable.

If via Wifi - Disconnect all other Devices using the Wifi - want the Maximum Bandwidth only for this computer.

Restart computer in  Safe Mode. It does a Repair Disk, Clear System Cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and Fonts. Will load slowly - Normal.

Once Logged in - open Apple Apps Store and  Get the Full Version of Monterey. It will take some time and several pauses will occur - normal. Countdown clock may say 15 minutes but in Real time may be 30 minutes. Same goes for clock at 10 minutes could be 20 minutes in Real time. Eventually , Full Installer will download and a New Application in Applications Folder will present called Install Monterey.

Stop there and perform a Time Machine Backup. If desired - have an External Drive - Copy & Paste the Install Big Sur Application to external drive for future usage - making a Bootable Installer. Now run the Installer.

Have found this method more reliable than the Software Update which is very iffy at best

What is the output of this command in the Terminal Application " softwareupdate --list-full-installers ' without Quotation marks ?

If the searching and never finding any Full Version of any Full Installer is the result >>

AntiVirus Software should be removed as per Developers Instructions. They are unneeded, cause havoc and interfere with the normal operation of the OS including the download and installation of Monterey

The Built in Security  is all that is required.

There are no known Windows-like Viruses in the wild that self replicate and affect macOS because of the underling UNIX  Foundation and Permission Limitation.

Disk Cleaners, Optimizers and UnInstaller are not needed. They will often times attempt to Modify, Alter, Remove or Delete elements of the Operating System requiring a Re-Installation.

This will include CleanMyMac

This will include BitDefender

Thank you for your response.

The command really does not show any results. Actually it seems to never finish (does not show a result).

I have no antivirus or disk optimizers.

I used a memory cleaner named Memory Diag to try to help with the memory management in my Mini. I've been suffering with softwares like Safari that simply eats up all available memory making the Mini sometimes almost unusable.

I have one cleaner app installed but never used it.

What are your suggestions?

Thank you again!
