How to reject software running from Security & Privacy

Here's what I was able to find.

From Big Sur and the Snagit System Audio Capture Component, follow the instructions for Option 3: Remove Old Plugin, copied here for your reference.

1. Quit Snagit and the System Preferences.
2. Open a Finder window.
3. Select Go > Go to folder from the menu bar.
4. Type the following and click Go: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL
5. Delete the ACE.driver folder.
6. Restart the computer.

Since you don't want to install Snagit, I omitted Step 7 which instructs you to reinstall the system audio component.

Thanks for that explanation. In that case I believe you simply have to uninstall the software which may also remove whatever it is that it was trying to install. You might have to contact its developer for instructions. If you can wait a few hours I'll investigate further and let you know what I find out.

It was blocked. To allow it, you must first click the "lock" icon and authenticate.

Your description and screenshot are very helpful, but I get the impression I am misinterpreting your question. To my knowledge "Snagit" is not a Rogue Amoeba product. If the answer you seek isn't to simply click the "lock" icon, could you explain?
