Track for another activities

Is there an opportunity to add tracking to a training? Now only running and cycling writes a track during the training.

I want to add tracking to skiing or roller skating.

For skiing and canoeing I have found the only way to get a map track recorded is to log the activity as a walk or run. I then export it to Strava (other third party apps also work) where I edit the workout to change the workout type to match the activity. Has added benefit of being able to save photos associated with that activity and add other text details for routes. Downside is more manual intervention, good thing is more engagement with workout data and exercise trends
