Returned MacBook Pro

I recently returned the new MacBook Pro 14” laptop and I got a receipt email that Apple is issuing a refund.

My question is I signed out of the laptop and erased all data and settings before returning it. How do I know if it got taken off my Apple ID?

Hey mksr,

It sounds like you have a question regarding returning a MacBook Pro. We can help.

Just to confirm, you erased the MacBook, but you'd like to confirm if the Apple ID has been taken off? If so, you can use these steps to see which devices you are signed in with your Apple ID: Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in.

The device of the MacBook Pro is not under devices on any of my Apple iPads but I keep getting a red check mark in Settings that asks me to Update Apple Settings. It says some account services will not be available until I sign in again. So I sign in and then it is asking for my MacBook Pro (that Apple received back and refunded me for) it wants me to unlock the MacBook Pro under my name. It was all signed out of and erased as an Apple rep walked me through the process. I did not sign in this. Is there a way to get to stop popping up?

After I sign in as it asks “it comes up MACBOOK PRO” asked me to enter the MacBook Pro password for it. I still know what I had for it but I didn’t sign in as it asked. My other iPad 8th gen doesn’t ask for anything under settings. It is my 6th gen iPad that asks for it under Settings. I know the MacBook Pro I returned was signed out of as the Apple rep told me what to do.
