when mu apple watch is in nigjtstand mode and goes dark, I can tap it and it will come on but is my regular clock face and not digital as it starts out on charger. can I make it digital when I tap it awake

Following the steps under the "Set up Apple Watch as a nightstand clock with alarm" section in the resource below, does the behavior occur if you wake the Apple Watch using one of the other methods listed as well?
