You should be able to do that. It can get a little wonky sometimes depending on what's already been done. At least the first time a window should come up saying "Apple iPhone" with a list of options including importing to OneDrive, importing photos and videos to the Microsoft Photos application, Open device to view files, and Take No Action.
It should show up as Apple iPhone on the sidebar under This PC (or whatever name your PC has). Then you'll have Internal Storage, DCIM, and whatever other subdirectories. You'll have to search for the exact directory your video files are in.
