Xbox Controller not Recognized by iPad

I've tried to connect two different Xbox Wireless Controllers to my iPad to be able to play Cloud Gaming on Edge, but each time I try to load a game, it says the controller is not connected or idle. I'm currently trying with a controller model 1708 (which is noted as supported here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211232) and updated the firmware of the controller to 4.8.1923.0. My iPad is also on the latest version, 15.2.1, and the Edge app is 97.0.1072.56. Any recommentations?
