Is this six year old app the latest version of Automator?

Thank you - I'm trying to figure out why I can't get the "Get content from Word documents" workflow to function properly. I keep getting an error message, <The action “Combine Word Documents” encountered an error: “Microsoft Word got an error: document "Document5" doesn’t understand the “insert file” message.”>
My goal is to combine the contents of a few dozen Word documents into a single document. The Insert>Object>Text From File command only does one document at a time.
I do not have MS Word here, so won't be much help. You are at the mercy of Microsoft's implementation of Automator actions for the version of MS Word that you have installed, and Microsoft's scripting dictionary support for AppleScript support in Word.
Anything you can do with Word's Visual Basic support to do this?
VB lets me edit the workflow/macro, but I don't know enough about programming to write the script.
