iPad screen not responding on touch

My iPad was working perfectly when I last left it. After half an hour when again I started my work it was not recognising my finger touch. I rebooted it number of times ( by pressing n releasing home and top buttons simultaneously) but it didn’t work . the problem is still there I am totally stuck. Pl help me out in resolving this problem.

Thanks.

If you already tried (to no avail) a forced restart of your iPad, I suggest that you make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.
