Pairing Loop

Okay so I bought an Apple Watch Series 1 from someone online. The watch functions perfectly, but it’s stuck on this loop where it asks me to update my iPhone before I can update the watch. Now that being said, my IPhone is up to date already to iOS 15.3 so I don’t understand why I can’t update and pair the watch.

Apple Watch setup issue Hello I am trying to pair my series 3 Apple Watch to my iPhone 12 but everytime I try it tells me I have to update the watch I hit update and it says you must update your iPhone before you can update your watch I hit update and it takes me to me settings and in there it says I am on the latest update my only option from there is to Cancle and stop pairing watch I’m stuck in this loop anyone know how to fix this ?

Series 2 Watch can’t be updated? I’ve purchased a used Apple Watch 2 (42mm) and I am unable to pair it to my iPhone 8. It says the watch software is out of date, but as soon as it attempts the update from the phone app, it says “Pairing Failed: Your Apple Watch couldn’t pair with your iPhone.” It then unpairs from the phone. At the top of the article, it states that the newest software update is compatible with the Series 3 and above. How do I pair my 2 with my phone without updating the software?
