My iPad Air will not update beyond 12.5. Is that the end of the road for updates of the iPad Air?

More than likely a 1st gen and can be updated no further. You need a newer device to run a higher version of iOS. You can go to black line above and click on iPad to see your new choices. If you consider a second hand device please take a moment to read these:
