its now just saying security lockout only...no "erase" button

How do I get back into my Ipad when it's security lockout and there is no "erase" button now?

However, if it has not you can also make an appointment and have your iPad inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider). Please use this link to find one in your Country Apple – Location Selector. After going through the process, you will be given all the options available.

I’m getting the same message, “security lockout”. And no erase option. In fact when hooked to the computer the computer won’t recognize the iPad. This beyond crazy. You over did the security and destroyed probably hundreds of iPads with your recent update. Was that planed and on purpose? I live hour from a Apple store, old and don’t like driving long distances. So apparently I’m now screwed. Thanks a lot apple….NOT!
