I have a number of shortcuts where I use the set playback destination to command in shortcuts (eg to a specific HomePod mini). It used to work fine but recently whenever I run the shortcut it will inly ply on the device I run it on (eg iPhone or iPad). I see this issue has been raised in a number of forums but no definitive answer has been given. Should the command work?
These canned responses isn't really helpful. I too have the same issue described in the initial post. This is how to reproduce this bug:
Test the shortcut, and the text still plays on the iPhone. However, if you add a "Play [Playlist]" action to the end of the Shortcut, that will play on the [HomePod].

It appears that you will run a Shortcut to play music on a specific device (like a HomePod mini), but the music only plays on the device where you ran the Shortcut. Does that sound right? We want to make sure we fully understand what's going on. If you haven't already, you'll want to make sure all devices involved are updated:

Yes I've done all that. If I do a short cut to play on a specific device and then select play music it seems to work. The issue is when you include text in the shortcut and select speak text. That is when it doesn't work.
