The absence of noise cancellation makes the call worse?

Yes, it does. When you make a cellular call using your iPhone without accessories (just as a normal handset), the person you're calling will not understand you if there is noise around (cars driving, wind, etc.). This problem becomes especially bad when you use the speakerphone on cellular calls. Then pretty much every little noise around you beats your voice.


If you want good quality on cellular calls on any iPhone 13 model, you need AirPods or a similar bluetooth device with built-in microphone noise cancellation.


If you make calls on FaceTime, the absense of noise cancellation does not affect it. FaceTime has an own voice isolation feature.
