Headphones

I’ve recently bought a new pair of headphones and when I plug them into my phone they only work one way, I basically have to unplug it and turn it around for it to connect, otherwise it plays out loud.

is this a weird new feature or are they broken?

if it was me then I would test it with another iphone or ipad to verify if it's

the connector of the headset

or the connector in your iphone which is not working as intended

Headphones disconnect when the cord moves at the bottom of the plug Ive gotten my headphones switch like 3 times bc they stop working out of nowhere.
