close caption suddenly changed and appears very faded how to fix

I don't know why all of a sudden the close caption on videos only appears very faded and can't read. How do I get it to where it is readable?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.1

Try the settings in System Preferences > Accessibility > Captions.
