Can a iMac OS 10.12.6 support a HP Envy Inspire 7900e printer?

The earliest driver support for this device began with macOS 10.13. You can get the older HP Smart Connect for macOS 10.13, but it may not work with macOS 10.12.6. This device is not supported by Apple's built-in AirPrint.

After the HP Smart Install, you will need to right-click on the device listed in Printers on the Printers & Scanners preference panel, and then select Reset printing system… to choose the current drivers for the device before re-adding it. There may an additional interface on that Printers & Scanners panel to configure the scanner for use with Apple's Image Capture.

7900e appears to be a series number. Does your printer have an exact 79xxe model number?
