app updated yesterday and now won’t open on iPad. I don’t want to delete it and re-download as I will loose all levels etc. Works on iPhone.

It may be difficult to retain your settings if the app will not open unless you delete it and download it again.
However, can you try a 'Force Restart' as sometimes that resolves legacy issues with updates and the following link explains how to do this:

And then can you check for updates in the App Store:

You could have a read and see if 'Game Centre' (link below) helps retain your levels but I am not sure as some of my games use my AppleID to login and therefore saves my levels:

I do like Angry Birds but play Angry Birds AR now which I like.
