I was forced to change the passcode on my iPhone yesterday and now I can’t remember it. Can I get a reset code sent to my email or to my other phone or to my iPad? Resetting and restoring the phone from backup seems extreme.

No. You will have to erase and restore the phone. Hope you have a recent backup.

Thanks. Hopefully I’ll remember the passcode.
If you try and enter the passcode and fail more than 10 times the phone will permanently lock and you will have to erase and restore.
