Stereo to mono
I have a stereo interview track that has wonkey levels throughout. It's just voice and could be mono as a quick fix. How do I make a stereo track mono?

Effects > Audio > Specialized > Direction Mixer, set the drop down to Stereo to Mono:
MtD

I doubt that changing to mono would help.
You can change from Stereo to "Dual Mono" in the Audio Inspector, under "Audio Configuration".
I am not great with audio, but maybe some of the automatic audio fixes or some of the audio effects could help.
If you give some more details about the problem maybe someone else can chime in.
Thanks for the reply! Changing to mono would def. help. I do this all the time in daws. Here's whats's happening... Right now, the levels on the left channel are low in the beginning, then increase sporadically and throughout. Same for the right channel. Key-framing would take a very long time. One option I have is to export the entire clip's audio into a daw, mono the track then sync back up. Then, even if FCP dropped it in as stereo mono, the tracks would be balanced. I could then compress to keep levels consistent. I could avoid this if there was a way to do this inside FCP. Thanks!!!
wooohoooo! FIXED! Thank you Meg The Dog!
