I downloaded a game in 2012 that has since been discontinued and not available in the Apple store anymore. It shows that i purchased it in my account, but when I go to the 'purchased' section in the app store it's not there. Shouldn't it still be in my icloud with the rest of my app purchases?

Sorry, apps are not stored in iCloud. If you redownload an app, it comes from the App Store if still available, not from iCloud.
