2 factor authentication code

How can I retrieve contacts, photos, etc. if my only apple device/iphone is completely disabled & I can’t access the 2 factor authentication code being sent to it? Can u say Catch 22?

That is what trusted phone numbers are for. They can be any phone including landline, androids, friends or relatives.

To have the code sent to a trusted number, see the "What if I can't access a trusted device or didn't receive a verification code?" section of the above support article.


If you are currently in a situation where your only device is not available and you don't have a trusted phone number already set up, see the "If I can't sign in, how do I regain access to my account?" section of the above support article.
