Anyone know how to stop repeating key strokes?

Help! My keyboard keeps repeating keystrokes which is making it impossible for me to quickly type anything. Constantly having to back up & correct the spelling. This has been happening for a few months.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Does the same thing happen if you use an external keyboard? If so, then you most likely have a settings configuration issue for the Keyboard System Preferences.

Many 2016-2019 Apple laptops use the Butterfly keyboard which tends to have this failure. Apple does have a free repair program. You can have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop to see if qualifies for the free Keyboard repair program and provide you with a repair estimate.
