See if you can recover the ID/password. Use every email address you can think of.

Apple ID - How to find your Apple  -  An iCloud e-mail address is an Apple ID.

Apple ID - Find  -

If you forgot the Apple ID (iCloud) password, enter the Apple (iCloud) ID, and click Forgot Password. See if you can get a Rescue or Notification email option if necessary. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the 2nd article.

Apple ID - Manage  -

Apple ID – Forgot Password  *

If necessary, if you are the original owner, contact Apple. Apple can remove the ID  if provided the required paperwork to include the original purchase receipt with the serial number on it.

Request additional support for unlocking your device.    -

You used to be able to take the device, the original purchase receipt with the serial number, and a photo ID to the nearest Apple Store (if it has reopened) and have them remove the ID. This may have changed, so call the store before going to make sure they can help.

Hello,

I have an old Ipad which i reformatted because I wanted to give it to my niece. I thought I would just start fresh with it, instead, it wants the original id and password. I have changed the Apple credentials many times, so the current Id and password do not work. I have tried all possible combinations (I have last pass and it remembers old passwords and ids) but nothing works.

I do not have the original receipt as I think I purchased it in 2011 or earlier. I think I bought it online, but I cannot remember that either. I am at a loss as to what to do. I think it was an ipad 3, not sure though.

I was wondering if by connecting it to a macbook I can do something more...

I would appreciate any ideas you might have.

Thanks

Dalila
