I am learning a video editing program "DaVinci Resolve". To execute a certain function I need to use the "period" key. I am living in Belgium where we use an "azerty" keyboard: can someone tell me which key is the "period" key on my azerty keyboard?

Go to System Preferences->Keyboard->Input Sources and check the box for "Show Input Menu in menu bar".
Also, tell us exactly what you see in Preferences->Keyboard->Input Sources; if possible post a screenshot like the one below.
You can press command-shift-4 and drag to take the screenshot, and it will be saved to your desktop.

What is your keyboard layout, exactly? This one?
The colon, ":", is in the same position as the period is in a QWERTY keyboard.
On the other hand the period in this keyboard is apparently type as SHIFT-semicolon.
Shift ";" should do the trick (see below).

It looks like the exact same layout, except that you have a full desktop keyboard with numeric keypad.
The keys in the main part of the keyboard appear to be exactly the same as I posted above.
