Why can’t I play Apple Music in Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 with my MacBook Pro M1 16” when connected to a Dolby Atmos enabled AV receiver over HDMI, like you can with an Apple TV?

All Atmos music is playing in stereo only I cannot get Apple Music to play Dolby Atmos anymore. It worked for several months, and now everything plays in stereo. I am streaming music from Apple Music to my Apple TV 4K, which is connected to an Atmos capable Marantz receiver. No matter what I do, it simply plays in stereo, even when I select Atmos tracks.

How do I listen to Dolby Atmos Music on an AV receiver without an Apple TV 4K? I understand that, in order to get Dolby Atmos to be playedback on a home theatre, you need an Apple TV connected to an AV receiver. Is it possible to listen to Dolby Atmos on a Mac or PC in Apple Music (or iTunes, in case of Windows PC) connected to an AV receiver? the HDMI out of a Mac doesn't seem to be able to transmit a Dolby Atmos signal. Thanks for any clarification

According to this article you can play Dolby Atmos through a compatible Soundbar then it says the only audio format choices are stereo and "Dolby Digital 5.1". Do the consider Atmos the same as Dolby Digital 5.1? I can't get it to play Atmos. I can't get it to stream Apple Music Atmos content from either of those choices while connected via HDMI to a Sonos Arc Soundbar with a Sonos Sub and two model One's for surround speakers. It only plays stereo through all the speakers. What am I doing wrong?
