Apple Watch 7 Always On While Removed From Wrist And Exercising

Will the screen stay on while using the Indoor Cycle Workout feature if the watch is not on my wrist? In other words, I want to mount the Apple Watch to my handle bars so it's always viewable, with display always on and showing my Indoor Cycle Workout screen, while connected to a 3rd party bluetooth heartrate monitor. Does Apple allow this?
