Iphone 8 Plus Speaker Issues?

I recently replaced the earpiece speaker and loudspeaker in my 8+. The ear piece speaker was shot, and, on replacement, I cleaned the mesh out with a fine brush from the electronics toolkit and a little bit of denatured alcohol. None of the components were in at the time. Once dried, I reinstalled new parts, and when testing the device, I noticed the speakers were louder than before (regular volume) with the screen off, but it was very crackly and there was no bass. I cleaned it some more and then sealed the phone back up (with a new rubber adhesive seal, of course).

Now, after the phone was put back together, it is just as quiet as it was before, and sounds horrible.

Should I replace the meshes? Anything else?
