Phonak hearing aids connect to iPod Nano but no sound

My iPod Nano 7th gen will connect via Bluetooth to my Phonak hearing aids, but there's no sound. I've tried turning Bluetooth on the Nano off and back on, and forgetting the hearing aids and re-pairing them. The volume on both the Nano and the hearing aids is set to normal levels. I only have this problem with my hearing aids, not with any other BT headsets or speakers. Is there anything else I can try?

Hey grayknight47,

Great job with the steps taken to this point. Are you having any issues using your hearing aids with any other devices? For help setting up your hearing device with your iPod nano, check out: Use hearing devices with iPhone

Additionally, your hearing aids may not be compatible looking at the following resources:

We hope this information helps out.

Take care!

Thanks for your reply, Karina. No, I don't have any problems with using my Phonak hearing aids with any of my other Apple devices that support BT (Touch, iPad Pro, iPad Mini), or any of my Android devices. It seems pretty clear that the Nano isn't going to work with my Phonaks. I guess what made me think there might be a solution is that the BT setting on Nano shows the hearing aids connected, but no sound is transmitted. None of the techniques shown for using hearing aids with the iPhone will work because none of those menu options is available on the Nano. I did see on one of the many web pages I looked at for a solution that the Nano doesn't actually run on the iOS, so I have to assume that's at least part of the problem. Anyway, I appreciate your trying but I think it's a lost cause. I'll have to transfer what's on the Nano to the Touch if I want to listen with my hearing aids.
