Need help deleting the software icon in iPhone storage want to make more space but can’t delete that

You mean the Software Update icon? That's the recently installed iOS update, it should have removed itself. You can tap on the > next to the size and then on Delete Update.
Do note, that 256KB is almost nothing. It's not really using any space. 256KB vs the 9.53GB iOS is using for example: 256 versus 9,530,000KB
