I have a disk stuck in my USB SuperDrive and I'm getting a message: USB Accessories Disabled. Unplug the accessory using too much power to re-enable USB devices." The device doesn't show in the dock and I don't have a key on my keyboard to eject so I have no way to eject the disk. I think the problem is the disk. The drive was working with other disks previously today. Any suggestions?

if you're using a mac wired keyboard you could try plugging in the device to one of the usbs on the keyboard. Obviously you could try rebooting but it might trigger the same issue with resources drawing too much to eject the dvd. Next you could try using disk utility to force eject. Use disk utility to manually force unmount the inserted disk from within the superdrive. This will cause it to eject. However it might not even be showing up in disk utility if theres not enough resources for the superdrive to be usable.

Here's one solution that might work for you. Turn your machine completely off. Then when you boot it hold your mouse or trackpad button down it should manually eject the cd upon boot.

If all else fails you can use terminal. So just enter your os. Login, then hold cmd+spacebar to bring up spotlight search or you can alternatively click the magnifying glass in the top right corner of the screen. Then search terminal to bring up a terminal window. Then run the command `drutil eject` without the tick marks. Hopefully one of those solutions will work for you.

Hi there wavy49,

We understand you're unable to eject a disk inserted in your Super Drive, and are receiving alert messages related to USB power.

Try this: Make sure your Mac is connected to power, the Super Drive is connected via USB, than restart your Mac while pressing and holding the mouse or trackpad button to manually eject the disk.

Additional information is available, here: Eject CDs and DVDs from your Mac

We hope this helps!
