Histograms in Numbers

I have prepared an expenditure sheet which highlights 9 categories, such as, Personal, Utility, Travel, Food, etc. I have also given colours to each category, blue, brown, red, etc. I want to prepare histograms which match with the given colours and not completely blue. How do I do that?

Colours for column and bar charts come in pre-determined sets of six colours or shades.

I've not done an intensive search, but have yet to see a means of setting specific colours for each category, changing the order of those colours on the chart, or for assigning more than six different colours to a single chart.

A possible, but labour intensive, solution might be to split your category set into two sets and create a pair of charts that can be placed side by side.

Apple has online User Guides for the three applications.

Here's a link to the guide for the current (11.2) version of Pages: Pages User Guide for Mac - Apple Support (CA)

The (CA) indicates this is the guide for users in Canada. You can copy the actual link from the location bar of your browser to replace CA with a two letter code for your region. Substituting "numbers" or "keynote" for "pages" will get you to the guides for those apps as well.

Barry

EDIT: confirmed that changes listed above do go to the guides for numbers and keynote.

Thank you for your help. I want to master the three apps, Numbers, Pages and Keynote. Which book is best for a person who wants to begin from the scratch?

You can also find relevant books at --

I don't have any of these but have heard they can be helpful.

I have found some of the videos here to be very helpful https://macmost.com/

And be sure to have a look at the templates at File > New in the menu.
