Trade in glitching iPhone

I have an iPhone XS that is glitching so bad we cannot erase it. Other than that it’s in great shape but some thing is wrong with the software and every time we try to reset it it glitches back to the main screen and you can’t do it. Tried multiple times one time it even acted like it was erasing and it turned back on with noThing erased. Can we trade it in even though we cannot get it erased?
