My iPhone 12 has a ringing problem. When it rings, the first ring is "normal" then all other rings after that become "whisper quiet". I have chatted with
Apple Support twice about it and they can't find out why it's doing it. Please help if you can as it's driving me crazy! Thanks

If Settings > Accessibility > Face ID & Attention > Attention Aware Features is on, the ring volume will automatically decrease as soon as the phone recognizes that it has your attention.

It's an option I really like since I have my phone set to maximum ring volume in case it's not near me, but the ring is obnoxiously loud if it is near me. As soon as I lift it to look at it, it automatically quiets it -- no need for it to continue to ring loudly as it knows I've heard it.
