purchased several albums through Bandcamp today. importing them into iTunes works fine, except for one album. only about one in four tracks appears in iTunes. tried several times (also importing the missing tracks one by one. didn't work either)

Check the files that did not get added to your iTunes Library: are they .flac files?
I'm sure I've seen somewhere recently that iPhones can now play .flac files, but as far as I know iTunes itself cannot play .flac files and will simply ignore attempts to add them to your Library. I've just this minute tried to add a .flac to my Library by using both File/Add File to Library and the double-click/iTunes will add and play the file method. in both cases, the attempt was ignored.
If that is the nature of the problem, look for another format for those tracks on Bandcamp. I use Bandcamp and as far as I know, all albums are available in MP3 format at the very least and you can download whichever format suits you.
Thanks for your reply, but I'm afraid this is not what this is about. I've downloaded all Bandcamp albums as MP3, including all the tracks from this specific album. some tracks show up in iTunes, most of them do not.
As well as the suggestion from tt2, you could try listing your songs (using the Songs view) in Date Added order and then see whether any of the missing tracks show up at the same time as the Bandcamp tracks that you're already aware of.
For what it's worth, I use Bandcamp and I've not had any problems.
Report the issue to BandCamp. Try redownloading. If possible try another format.
