iMac Photos Duplicating Photos Between Albums and Shared Albums

Hi all,

So my iMac Photos (FYI running on Monterey) duplicates photos when I drag/drop photos from an Album to a Shared Album or vice versa.

Any idea how to fix/avoid this problem? Thanks!

That cannot be avoided. When you share a photo, a downsized version without metadata will be shared, So Photos is creating a copy for the shared album and the high resolution original with the location data and title remains in your Photos Library. Shared albums are stored in iCloud, but the storage for shared albums is free. It does not co7bt against your iCloud Storage subscription.
